This weekend our house celebrated three graduations. One for Dr. Raulfs, one for Master Davis, and one for Master Vogel. Because my department is so small, we never had a proper hooding ceremony.
At our celebratory cookout on Saturday, Paul Harrill, the professor and filmmaker I have the privilege to work under all year long, asked me if I had been hooded. After I explained I had not, he brilliantly suggested, "Well, if you had your hood I could do it right now for you." Calling his bluff, I dashed inside for my hood. Ashley Maynor, the other professor and filmmaker I have been privileged to work under, set up the Flip camera they had gifted me to document all forthcoming Peace Corps adventures.
